Why Home Church?
The early church met in homes. We believe this wasn't just historical — it was intentional.
The Early Church Met in Homes
The book of Acts, Paul's letters, and early church history describes the early Christians meeting in home. While there is nothing wrong with meeting in a building, it isn't necessary, for the true Church is the body of believers, not a building.
It Feels More Like a Family
A smaller group tends to get close, and we have, yet warmly welcome newcomers into the circle. We pray for one another by name, and endeavor to care for one another's needs, as a family does.
A Participatory Model Rather Than A Spectator Model
We each listen to the sermon ahead of time (from the best preachers in the world) and have the time to contemplate it. Many listen more than once, for they are so good. Then, after the worship time, we have such a rich discussion about what we learned, or what puzzled us, or how we are applying it.
A Wise Use of Resources
Because we do not have the expenses of a large building or a pastoral staff, 80% of our giving goes to ministries abroad and at home. Our members are all involved, using their gifts to help the church thrive.
Why Evangelical Free
We are under the umbrella of the E Free Church for protection that we do not stray from the truth. E Free is firm in essentials such as the Trinity, the inerrancy of the Word, and that salvation is by faith alone. They give individual churches freedom in non-essentials. We practice believers' baptism and allow women on the steering committee along with men.
